One Ulta Beauty Ad Has A Young Girl In A Wheelchair Captivated

The world of advertising has often come under fire for promoting unattainable beauty standards and promoting a certain type of person. This person is normal slim, slender and beautiful, or incredibly muscular and perfectly preened. However, it’s fair to say that there has been an advertising revolution over the past few years, and we are now seeing men and women of all shapes, sizes, and disabilities in front of us. One young girl soon realized this for herself when she visited her local Ulta Beauty store.

Full Of Dreams

There are countless people around the world who have struggled with handicaps over the course of their lives, and Maren Anderson is one of them. This four-year-old was born with a genetic mutation that forced her into a wheelchair at a young age. Maren’s mother has noted that her daughter has got quieter and quieter as the years have gone by, but that her little girl has still been full of dreams. In fact, she confessed that her daughter’s “infectious giggle” was enough to put a smile on anyone’s face.

Wanting To Be Accepted

However, Carolyn Anderson has also noted that her daughter often feels as though she isn’t accepted in society due to her wheelchair. After seeing advertisements and commercials on TV and in magazines, Maren had begun to feel like an outsider, and that she wasn’t represented in the world of promotion. So, when she saw a model in a wheelchair in the windows of their local Ulta store, she couldn’t believe it! Maren stopped and stared at the model for what seemed like ages, and her mom could see her face lighting up.

Hopefully, this is just the start of the changes happening in the advertising world!
