Some of us have dreams of all the things we’d love to own, but what about when we put our own wishes aside to help out someone in need?
Making Friends
10-year-old Vaughn was about to make an unexpected friend: Tony, an attendant at his local gas station in South Africa. Vaughn was sick and waiting in the car for his mom when Tony noticed the boy and wanted to help cheer him up. The pair immediately hit it off and have been friends ever since.

Keeping Up Conversations
Now, Vaughn and his mom often visit the gas station where the youngster always looks out for his new friend. Tony and Vaughn usually spend the time chatting about all the bikes he and his mom take to Giba, and now Tony had a favor to ask. He wanted the little boy to keep an eye out for a cheap bicycle he could buy.
Saving Up The Money
Vaughn had spent weeks saving up all his loose pennies in a piggy bank to put toward a vacation with his mom. However, that was all about to change. The youngster asked his mom if she really wanted to go away as he had another idea for the money: he wanted to buy Tony his bicycle.

Handing It Over
It wasn’t long before Vaughn spotted the perfect bike for his new friend and knew it was the one that he had to buy. Thankfully, Tony was working the day he finally got to hand it over. Their friendship might have been strong before, but now Tony was eternally grateful to his young buddy for his generous gift.

A Proud Mom
Tony wasn’t the only one overwhelmed by the youngster’s actions. Mandy, Vaughn’s mother, was taken back by how kind her son had been to his new friend. Mandy took to social media where she wanted the whole world to know how proud she was of her son and knew his empathy was a trait that would continue for many years.
The world doesn’t have to be a bad place – especially when there are 10-year-olds proving that one small act of kindness could be enough to change someone’s life for the better.
