There are many things that we might take for granted. So what about being able to hear? One girl never knew what it was like to hear the world around her. That was until special hearing aids meant she could take it all in for herself.
Changing Her Life
Jo Altmaier had lived her entire life watching the world go by, but missing out on many aspects. Why? She needed hearing aids, yet she needed to wait for them. At last, Jo was given a chance to hear the world and everyone that lives in it thanks to her new hearing aids. While she might have spent so many years living in silence, Jo wanted to share her findings with the rest of the world as she took it all in.
Sharing Her Adventures
Thankfully, Jo took to Tumblr, where she wrote about all the things she heard for the first time. Everything from the noise of deer walking on the grass to dogs smelling, cows mooing in the distance to music, and crunchy pine cones to the ocean, everything soon became a new adventure for Jo to enjoy. She posted about all of her latest findings as soon as she got to hear them for the first time.
Adding Some Details
It wasn’t long before Jo wanted to add some details to her new hearing aids, so she decided to decorate them with stickers. The little addition had been able to change her life in such a huge way. To top it off, Jo could now hear everything down to the noise her pencils made on the paper when she was drawing.
There are many wonders in the world around us. Sometimes, it takes someone else’s discovery of them all to make us realize the beauty that passes us by every day.
