This 7-Year-Old Is Reading to Kids Who Are Missing Story Time at School

The world is in a bit of a weird place right now, and most of us are suffering to some degree. Thankfully, there are some kind-hearted individuals out there who want to bring some light into other people’s lives during these trying times. Bryan Rumfelt is one such person, and he’s been helping the world by reading to kids who have been missing out on story time.

Reading Is Fundamental

Reading is an important thing to do at any age, but it’s particularly crucial when you’re younger. After all, the more you read as a child, the better you’re likely to fare in both school and your future career.

A lot of kids learn to do this through story time, but due to the current situation, some of them are missing out on this right now. At least, they were until Rumfelt’s grandmother suggested he make a difference to those children’s lives.

Reading To The World

Aware of Bryan’s passion for reading, the seven-year-old’s family set up a group on Facebook named “Bryan’s Book Corner.” This was a place where he could record himself reading his favorite books and have it be broadcast around the world. It’s only been up for a few months, but already the group has amassed over 2,500 members. Most of these followers are parents or kids who appreciate what the boy has done for them during this difficult time.

Charitable Since Day One

While Bryan’s generosity might seem surprising for someone so young, this apparently isn’t the first time he’s been so generous. In 2017, he raised nearly $3,000 to help the children of Houston after the area was affected by catastrophic flooding. It seems that this boy was born with a heart of gold.

Although “Bryan’s Book Corner” might not solve all of the world’s current problems, it’s still making a difference to thousands of people out there. That’s all that matters.
