Nowadays, a lot of people make their livelihood by taking photos, but a few decades ago, decent cameras weren’t even that common. Many of the pictures shot in the past were poor quality, and they weren’t designed to stand the test of time. Fortunately, there are some incredibly talented people out there who can restore even the most damaged photos to perfect condition.
A Talented Man
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to restore old photos. Things like water damage, fading, and tears can all be difficult to reverse, no matter how skilled you are. However, Mario Unger is someone who’s never been afraid of a challenge. This photoshop pro has dedicated so many hours to restoring pictures in the hope of keeping their history alive and well.

Restoring The Past
Mario goes above and beyond for each one of his photo projects, some of which were taken more than 150 years ago. Among his most impressive restorations are photos of Andrew Johnson, Mary Todd Lincoln, and Arthur Morgan Chase, as well as other relics of the past. Bringing these images into the 21st century wasn’t easy, especially as some came to him in little pieces. However, he breathed new life into each and every one of them.

Hours Of Work
In restoring the images, Unger isn’t merely able to undo all the damage they’ve experienced over time. He can also turn photos that were initially black and white into works of color, giving off the impression they were taken just days earlier. Doing this requires a great deal of precision, which is why one picture can sometimes set him back 15 hours. However, losing a day is undoubtedly worth it to restore such an essential piece of history.
To say we’re impressed by what this man can do is an understatement. His skills are something else.
