Earning His Bonus
Grant Rivera is a 44-year-old superintendent working in the Marietta School District in Georgia. Grant has been a part of the team for three years and says that he is eligible for a considerable bonus every three years if he continually keeps on top of his performance.
Donating The Lot
Believe it or not, but Grant earned a whopping $10,000 in 2019. However, the superintendent says that it doesn’t feel right taking the money when the teachers are the ones doing the hard work. Instead, Grant decided to donate the check to the Marietta Schools Foundation.
Helping Students
Many students can spend hundreds of dollars on their college tuition. However, Grant wants to help by paying the application fees for those looking to apply to their chosen college ahead of the usual deadlines. He hopes that it relieves a lot of the stress that the students might already feel.
Using The Rest
That’s not all. Grant claims that he has plans in case there’s not enough money in the foundation as the superintendent says that he will cover the rest of the costs from his paycheck. To top it off, Grant plans to use any money that could be leftover to run college bus tours around Georgia.
Many of us have that one special teacher that sticks in our mind. Grant Rivera could soon be one of the few. It looks as though this superintendent is putting his bonus to use in ways that many never would have imagined, and could help out hundreds of budding college kids as a result.
