It can sometimes be our differences that bring us together. One boy had been the target of bullies, and it looked as though this six-legged puppy was about to receive the same treatment. That was until they were united and showed the world what they are made of.
A Troubled Start
Luke is a 15-year-old living in Kent. U.K. However, the teen suffers from psoriasis that often leaves his skin flaky and itchy – and makes him the target of bullies. Luke’s mom, Lauren, worries that her son is continually stressed.
Spotting The Pup
It wasn’t until Luke spotted the pup online that he realized how much she needed a home. The labrador-mix was born with six legs, and it looked as though her breeders were going to have to end her life.
Coming Together
Luke and his mom headed to the breeders, where they both immediately fell for the puppy. Apparently, she came bounding out on her back legs, and it wasn’t long before Luke knew the perfect name: Roo.
Joined At The Hip
Now, Luke and Roo go everywhere together, and the puppy even sleeps on her new friend’s bed. To top it off, Lauren knows that Roo helps relieve Luke’s stress, which has helped to calm his skin condition in return.
Hope For The Future
Lauren and Luke want to help their new pup, so she contacted a top vet, Noel Fitzpatrick, who specializes in treating “incurable” pets. Now, the pair are waiting for advice about how to help Roo for the future.
Although Roo was born with six legs, Luke says that it has never slowed her down. Thankfully, it seems as though their differences have been enough to bring this pair together as they now share an unbreakable bond – and it doesn’t look as though it will break anytime soon.
