This Dog Was Found Swimming 135 Miles Off The Gulf Of Thailand

The Gulf Of Thailand is a rich body of water that is known for harboring some of the most exotic and beautiful marine life in the world. The temperate waters are also a tourist’s dream and have often been the jewel in the eye of sailors as they tend to be calm waters. The idea of oil-rigging is something that has become controversial in recent years due to the ecological effects of the techniques used in the process. However, one young soul could not have been more grateful to see an oil rig on the distance last week when a young puppy came swimming up to a rig, 135 miles into the Gulf of Thailand.

Workers on the rig described noticing a small object floating just off the distance. Thankfully, the weather was clear that day and the sea was calm. As the little blop on the waters came closer and closer to the oil rig, workers noticed that it was indeed a creature and not an object. As it kept moving towards the rig, the workers noticed that it was, in fact, a young puppy! They were completely astounded by this as there was literally nothing around for 135 miles other than freighters and cruise ships. The fact that this little critter had made it this far was absolutely amazing.

As the young Aspin reached the base of the oil rig, workers scrambled to try and hoist her up onto the deck with a rope that they had managed to secure to her. Amazingly, the little dog was in reasonably good health despite having been swimming in the ocean for what seemed to be a long time. The oil rig workers gave her water and food and soon, she was taken to a vet in Songkhla, the South of Thailand. A truly amazing story of survival – we’re so glad she survived!
